    About Night Diving Night diving is a type of recreational diving which takes place at dusk or in total darkness. The diver can experience a different underwater environment at night because many marine animals are nocturnal. Night dives are special because even a familiar site looks different at night. When you make a day dive, you normally scan the entire dive site looking at your surroundings. At night, you see only the area of the dive site that is lit by your light. This forces you to slow down and concentrate on that one area. Night dives in Isla Mujeres are generally done on Manchones Reef. This is a shallow reef full of sea turtles, sleeping Parrotfish, Octopus, Squid, Sea Urchins, Basket Sea Stars, and many other nighttime creatures! As the largest shark in the sea, these gentle giants are peaceful creatures who feed on plankton. Jump in and swim with them during whale shark season from June to mid September. Whale sharks are gentle creatures that live in depths to 250m/800ft below sea level most of the year. In the summer months, they come to our waters to feed on the plankton, microscopic plant matter. The plankton is in large concentrations off our shores to take in the sun on the surface of the ocean which has the whale sharks coming back year after year to feed.     Sailfish are the fastest fish in the ocean with recorded speeds of up to 110 km/hour. They get their name from their spectacular dorsal fin that stretches almost the whole length of their body. Blue-grey in color with a white underbelly, they can grow up to 11ft in length and weigh up to 220 pounds. These powerful creatures are members of the billfish family and can be identified by their distinctive spears. The sail is normally kept folded down when swimming and raised only when the sailfish attack their prey.Sailfish usually attack one at a time and the small teeth on their bills inflict injuries on their prey fish, by way of scale and tissue removal. On average about two prey fish are injured during a sailfish attack but only 24% of attacks result in capture. As a result, injured fish increase in number over time in a fish school under attack.     Wing Diving is a new water activity on Isla Mujeres and it is so much fun! It is not offered in many places in the world, which makes it even more unique. The instructions are English and Spanish speaking. There can be up to 2 trips a day, so if you’re busy in the morning you can go in the afternoon. This activity is perfect for people completely new to wing diving because the board is really easy to manueve, it is made up of two separate wings which are connected by a rotatable swivel. Boat: Rita Time of tour: 10.30am – 2pm Maximum occupancy: 8 people PRICES: $65USD per person (includes water and a beer) $10 per person you have to pay while booking here & pending amount at wing diving office. $25USD per person (if you do want to sit on the boat but do not want to go wing diving. $45USD (if you would like videos and a few photos of your wing diving experience!     Leaving Cancun Airport can be overwhelming, as many companies, taxis and other transport representatives will be outside of the airport hustling to try and get your business. Let us make that part of your journey easier for you. Just let us know if you want to book a round trip or one way service to the ferry dock. We will arrange your transfer and send you the confirmation with all the information you need for your transportation. We will let the company know when you will be arriving and a well marked representative will be waiting for you as soon as you walk out of the Arrivals terminal and will have your name so that you know they are legitimate. Your transportation will be prepaid and all you will need to do is tip the driver when you get to the Puerto Juarez and head to the island! You can have a direct, private transfer to the ferry.     Whether you have already planned and reserved your vacation rental or are just starting your planning, you will want to have a way to get around the island. Golf cart rentals here are just what you need. They are fun to drive and are great for small groups or families. (Please note that there are no golf carts on the island that will seat 6 people.) Golf carts are in great demand. The island runs out of carts during high season. We will do our best to find a cart for you and will refund your money if one is not available. Bertram, fully equipped with outriggers, downriggers, bottled water, shade and two brand new 200HP four-stroke environmentally friendly Yamaha engines.
