• Beginner Discover Diving
Never been diving before? No problem! The Discover Scuba Diving course is a one-day program designed to introduce you to the underwater world while using safe practices and minimal training. Scuba diving is a quick and easy-to-understand activity. Your instructor will start by teaching you a few essential skills in shallow water. Once you master those skills and feel comfortable, you will then make your dives accompanied by your instructor. Isla Mujeres offers different easy diving locations all just a few minutes from the island. Within the National Marine park, you may choose to explore the Manchones Reef where sea life is abundant. Manchones Reef also holds the world renowned Underwater Museum, MUSA, a collection of more than 500 human sized sculptures that were created with the intention to protect the reef and stimulate coral growth. The museum is also called the Silent Evolution due its eventual transformation into a complete self sustaining reef ecosystem in the near future. Today's the museum provides protection for many species and represents a symbol of environmental consciousness. Please note that this is NOT a certification course, it is an introductory program permitting you to experience scuba diving. If you enjoy this experience and are interested in becoming a certified diver you will need to sign up for a PADI or SDI certification course at our Scuba Diving section. Details:

  • Sailfish Swimming Adventure, Snorkel and Encounter the fastest fish in the ocean!

    Snorkeling with Sailfish

Sailfish are the fastest fish in the ocean with recorded speeds of up to 110 km/hour. They get their name from their spectacular dorsal fin that stretches almost the whole length of their body. Blue-grey in color with a white underbelly, they can grow up to 11ft in length and weigh up to 220 pounds. These powerful creatures are members of the billfish family and can be identified by their distinctive spears. The sail is normally kept folded down when swimming and raised only when the sailfish attack their prey.Sailfish usually attack one at a time and the small teeth on their bills inflict injuries on their prey fish, by way of scale and tissue removal. On average about two prey fish are injured during a sailfish attack but only 24% of attacks result in capture. As a result, injured fish increase in number over time in a fish school under attack. We offer an opportunity to learn about the fascinating feeding habits of these incredible hunters in the crystal clear waters of the Mexican Caribbean. You will be taught to keep an eye out for the birds that soar above the sailfish as they feed on groups of sardines. Then you can jump in, snorkel and enjoy the spectacle for yourself. Details:

  • About Night Diving Night diving is a type of recreational diving which takes place at dusk or in total darkness. The diver can experience a different underwater environment at night because many marine animals are nocturnal. Night dives are special because even a familiar site looks different at night. When you make a day dive, you normally scan the entire dive site looking at your surroundings. At night, you see only the area of the dive site that is lit by your light. This forces you to slow down and concentrate on that one area. Night dives in Isla Mujeres are generally done on Manchones Reef. This is a shallow reef full of sea turtles, sleeping Parrotfish, Octopus, Squid, Sea Urchins, Basket Sea Stars, and many other nighttime creatures! Bottom times at this location are long, which makes for great night time photography sessions. This is a dive you do not want to miss while in Isla Mujeres! Details:

Our knowledgeable crew leads the expedition through the mangroves and into the jungle to discover what few have experienced: the untouched ruins of a Spanish church built in the early 1500’s. The area surrounding the site is uninhabited, the only way to reach this magical place is by way of nautical navigation 40 kilometers from Isla Mujeres.
